US: Northern Lights Visible In 10 States On Christmas

People from many states in the US witnessed and captured the beauty of Northern light from their respective areas due to a minor geomagnetic storm in October.

Again today, on Christmas day, a coronal mass ejection from the sun is causing a geomagnetic storm again and the Northern Lights will be visible in ten states of the US.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a geomagnetic storm warning, predicting a Kp index of 5, which indicates a minor storm. The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis will be visible across many US states in the Midwest and the Northeast.

The states with potential viewing of Northern Lights are Washington, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Michigan, New York, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Montana and North Dakota.
