Hyderabad Metro Expanding Its Wings

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced plans for the Hyderabad Metro Rail extension for the New Year. On this special occasion, Revanth Reddy announced that the northern part of the city will see the Metro Rail extension to Medchal and Shamirpet.

Issues with long-standing traffic and measures to improve connectivity in the highlighted areas have been reported. Hence, Revanth Reddy directed Hyderabad Airport Metro Ltd (HAML) managing director N.V.S. Reddy to prepare Detailed Project Reports for two new Metro corridors: Paradise-Medchal (23 kilometers) and JBS-Shamirpet (22 kilometers).

The plan is to include these extensions in the Metro Rail Phase-2 Part-‘B’.

As per the reports, the 23 kilometers of the Paradise-Medchal corridor include Tadbund, Bowenpally, Suchitra Circle, Kompally, Gundlapochampally, Kandlakoya, and the ORR exit.

On the flip side, the JBS-Shamirpet corridor will cover 22 kilometers. The link passes through Vikrampuri, Karkhana, Trimulgherry, Lothkunta, Alwal, Bolarum, Hakimpet, Tumkunta, and the ORR exit.
