Steve Jobs’ widow participates in Maha Kumbh

Apple co-founder Steve Jobs widow Laurene Powell Jobs attended the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.

On Monday, the sixtyone-year-old American businesswoman participated in the festivities at the Mela and was seen with an orange-coloured dupatta shawl over her head.

She is expected to take a dip at the Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and the mystical Saraswati rivers.

On Sunday evening, Jobs’ widow reached spiritual leader Swami Kailashanand Giri ji at the Maharaj’s Ashram in Prayagraj.

Recently, she was given the Hindu name of ‘Kamala’ by Niranjani Akhara, a respected body of the saints.

Before reaching Prayagraj, she visited Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi on January 11.

At Varanasi, the philanthropist worshipped Baba Kashi Vishwanath and performed ‘jalabhishek’, offered prayers for the success of Maha Kumbh.

This year, the 45-day Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj is a onc-in-144-year spiritual gathering. The Maha Kumbh will go on till February 26.

It is expected that around 450 million devotees would congregate at the Triveni Sangam.
