US Election 2020: Joe Biden Wins The Presidency

US election is finally concluded after four days of counting. Democratic nominee Joe Biden won the presidency over Donald Trump, to become 46th president of the United States of America. The victory is declared and Joe Biden won 284 electoral votes after battleground state Pennsylvania turned blue, at last. The Associated Press, CNN and others called it a race to project Joe Biden as winner.

Trump managed to win 214 electoral votes and the Grand Old party’s Joe Biden is at 284 after he got lead in the key states and finally took over Pennsylvania. The race has been called to declare Joe Biden as the winner. Joe Biden was at 264 electoral votes and needed just 6 more to get the 270, but Pennsylvania gave him 20 electoral votes.

The ballot counting in other key state Nevada is still at 87 percent total counting, meanwhile, Pennsylvania has become the decision with 20 electoral votes going blue with 99 percent reporting.

Earlier, the battleground states Arizona, Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania gave narrow to clear lead to Joe Biden while North Carolina stayed with Trump. The later mail-in ballot turned completely in Democrat favor giving him the surplus electoral vote majority.

Trump campaign cried foul with ‘ballot fraud’ and ‘election stealing’ comments and even filed lawsuits in three states.

Kamala Harris will be nation’s first Black and South Asian vice president, and also the first woman to hold the office.

President-elect Joe Biden has issued a statement right after the race is called and here is what he said.

“I am honored and humbled by the trust the American people have placed in me and in Vice President-elect Harris.

In the face of unprecedented obstacles, a record number of Americans voted, Proving once again, that democracy beats deep in the heart of America.

With the campaign over, it’s time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation.

It’s time for America to unite. And to heal.

We are the United States of America. And there’s nothing we can’t do, if we do it together.”
