Hyderabad Misses IPL But Grabed ICC T20 World Cup

Indian Premier League is limited to only few cities this year. The organizers did not pick all the venues in the view of a hike in Corona cases. Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Delhi will be the venues for the tournament. So far, IPL games took place in Chennai and Mumbai. Although the Hyderabad cricket association and the government of Telangana requested the BCCI and IPL organizers to conduct matches in Hyderabad, the board overlooked their requests. But now, we came to know that BCCI decided to conduct some matches of ICC world T20 in Hyderabad city.

Mohammed Azharuddin, the president of Hyderabad Cricket Association has officially confirmed the same on his Twitter profile.

“Great news that Hyderabad will host some of the ICC World #T20 games. After much persuasion Hyderabad has been selected as a venue for ICC game for the very first time. Grateful to @ICC @BCCI” he wrote on Twitter profile.

T20 World Cup is slated to be held in October-November this year.
Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Chennai and Hyderabad will be the newly added venues for the upcoming tournament.
