It’s been almost four years that the last Chief Minister of United AP, Kiran Kumar Reddy returned to Congress. But till date his services were not utilised by the Congress high command or AP congress. After the Chintan Shivir, the Congress high command is going aggressive and accordingly ex-CM Kiran received a call from the President Sonia Gandhi.
Kiran is set to fly to New Delhi and there are high chances of him meeting Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in person. From the media reports we hear that the Congress high command wants Kiran Kumar Reddy to take over AP-PCC chief post and revive the party in Andhra.
During the bifurcation process in 2014, Kiran showed resistance against the Congress high command. His speeches and press meets earned him huge respect from the people of AP. The Congress high command is of the opinion that Kiran can bring back the lost glory to the party in AP.
However, when Kiran rejoined Congress in 2018, he showed no interest in leading the party in AP. But he might listen to Sonia and Rahul if they insist him to take up the PCC job. Yet the road ahead is very long and tough for Kiran.
