Uddhav knocks Modi’s door for MLC post

After the hung assembly in Maharashtra, we know that Shiv Sena formed the state government by allying with Congress and NCP. However, Shiv Sena chief and CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray is not an elected representative. So, the cabinet of Maharashtra has gave a representation to state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to nominate Uddhav as MLC (Member of Legislative Council) through governor’s quote.

Despite receiving the representation for two times from state cabinet, Governor Koshyari did not act on it. So, Maha CM Uddhav has directly called PM Modi on Wednesday to seek his intervention in this matter.

A leader of NCP has revealed that Uddhav has approached Modi to intervene. If the Governor, Koshyari, doesn’t act according to the recommendations of cabinet, Shiv Sena chief has to step down from his post. While asking for PM Modi’s immediate intervention, CM Thackeray also made it clear that ‘attempts are underway to create political instability in Maharashtra.”

The NCP leader said Governor has to clear the matter in next 5 days rather than delaying it till last day, i.e 27th May. He further said, “Governor Koshyari said he is seeking legal opinion for nominating Uddhav as an MLC”, by adding “we are ready to approach Supreme Court, if needed”.
