Usually, we associate the term lall-time record” with the film industry. When a film sets an unprecedented record with humongous box office collections, it is given the title of “all time blockbuster”. But this time around this tag is becoming perfectly apt for the Telugu Desam Party.
TDP has now set an all time record with regard to the official number of registered memberships. The party has completed an earth-shattering one crore memberships till now.
As per the latest reports, the membership drive that was set in motion by the Telugu Desam party has hit a new benchmark with over
1,00,20,065 registered memberships till now.
This is the first time in the history of Telugu Desam party that the total number of membership has crossed one crore mark. Interestingly enough, the party is gaining momentum not just in Andhra Pradesh, but also in Telangana, where over 15 lakh registrations were reportedly completed till now.
The membership costs just Rs 100 per head and comes with a substantial insurance of Rs 5 lakh. The party has already paid Rs 42 crore premium for the membership drive, covering its registered members.
The membership drive gained a whole lot of momentum after the increasingly proactive Nara Lokesh introduced the insurance policy and related perks.
The Nellore Assembly segment is topping the list with the highest number of registered members while Chandra Babu’s own constituency of Kuppam comes fifth. This in itself is an indication that the membership drive is being carried out in a very generic manner.
From getting completely dissipated in the 2019 election, which questioned the very existence of the party to storming to power with an absolute majority in 2024 and subsequently completing an all-time number of memberships, Telugu Desam has truly come a long way.
