Russian President Vladimir Putin called for the creation of alternatives to pornographic content. He wanted something more “interesting and passionate” to be created to catch people’s attention.
In an interview with Russia Today, Putin admitted that adult content has widespread popularity across the globe.
“Porn sites are visited all across the world. It is not just an issue for us, but for everyone,” Putin remarked.
Though banning such sites could be considered, Putin said that it is more important to provide alternatives that are more compelling than the adult content.
“There can be bans and prohibitions, but one has to always come up with alternatives — something more engaging and more interesting than a porn website to fill the void that causes greater interest,” he added.
These remarks gain significance in the wake of his unusual suggestion made recently.
To address the country’s declining birth rate, Putin advised Russians to engage in sexual activity during their lunch and coffee breaks at work, hoping it would boost the country’s fertility rate.
This indicates that having more children is being encouraged by several prominent politicians across the world.
In the wake of dwindling population, political leaders are advocating the cause as they view an alarming situation where the future leaders could have to govern and rule less of people and more of buildings and roads, trees and other animals.
