US: Kamala Harris takes Covid-19 vaccine

The US is the worst hit country of the pandemic Covid-19 with 19.4 million cases and 3.36 lakh deaths. On Tuesday, the country reported its first case of the UK variant of virus in Colorado. Amidst this, the vaccination drive is going on.

On December 21st, US President elect Joe Biden received the Covid-19 vaccine and today Vice President Kamala Harris has received Covid vaccine live on television. Kamala received two shots of the vaccine at the United Medical Center in Washington, DC with a large African-American population.

For the vaccine, Kamala was accompanied by her husband Doug Emhoff too. “Today I got the COVID-19 vaccine. I am incredibly grateful to our frontline health care workers, scientists, and researchers who made this moment possible. When you’re able to take the vaccine, get it. This is about saving lives,” tweeted Kamala after taking the vaccine.

This is being done by Biden and Kamala to clear the myths in people and want to encourage more and more people to trust in the vaccine and authorities.

Biden and Kamala will take the office of White House on January 20th. Kamala will become the first Black and Indian-American vice president as well as the first woman in the role.
