Boy, Who Won Rs 1 cr In 2001 KBC, Is IPS Now

Kaun Banega Crorepati is one of the most happening and popular reality game shows on Indian Television since two decades, with big stars as hosts every season like Amitabh Bachchan and a couple of seasons with Shah Rukh Khan.

We have so many winners of the show KBC, who took Rs.1 crore home happily. Among them, a 14-year-old boy named Ravi Mohan Saini who answered the 15 questions of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Junior, correctly in 2001 has also won Rs 1 crore.

Today, the latest news on his whereabouts suggests that Saini has become the Superintendent of Police in Porbandar on Tuesday. Dr Ravi Mohan Saini is now 33 years and he is an Indian Police Services (IPS) officer. Saini hails fro Rajasthan and his father is a retired Navy officer.

However, he was brought up in Vizag, Andhra and his schooling was also from Naval Public School in Vizag. When he contested in KBC junior 2001, Saini was studying class 10. “Though I won Rs 1 crore I got Rs 69 lakh after deduction of taxes and that too four years later,” Saini told.

This is because, the boy was only 14 years during his winning moment and as per the rules of the show, the prize money is given to the winners after they turn 18. So, after his 10th, Saini did MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Medical College in Jaipur but he joined the police force as he took his own father as a role model.
After trying in Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination in 2012 and 2013, he secured the job he wanted only in 2014 with an all India rank 461.
