As usual AP Assembly witnessed high intensity moments yet again. Over the deaths in Jangareddygudem, TDP and YCP indulged in an ugly verbal spat. TDP MLAs stormed at the Speaker’s podium and raised slogans against the YCP government. Angered by TDP’s behaviour, Speaker Tammineni suspended five TDP MLAs.
After suspending TDP MLAs, YCP MLAs addressed this issue and pictured the deaths as natural ones. From Roja to minister Appalaraju Seediri, many targeted TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.
Minister Appalaraju criticised the previous TDP government that promoted beer as a health drink. “In 2015, then CM Chandrababu called on a meeting with higher officials to explore various sources of revenue income. As part of it, Chandrababu government permitted wine shops alongside national highways even though the union government ordered for removal of wines,” said Appalaraju.
Recalling ex-minister’s Jawahar’s comments on toddy, Appalaraju added that it was a shame that ministers in previous TDP government termed toddy as an energy drink and promoted it. TDP has no moral right to talk about liquor because they extensively promoted and set up wines all over the state.
The YCP minister concluded that CM Jagan led YCP government is committed for prohibiting wines and so brought down the number of liquor shops and our government’s policies are very stringent to tackle this menace.
