The Queensland state police department of Australia is searching for an Indian national who is absconding in connection with a woman’s murder. This crime took place nearly four years back and the suspect is 38 years old Rajwinder Singh.
On October 22nd in 2018, 24 years old Toyah Cordingley was found dead on Wangetti Beach, South of Cairns. Rajwinder Singh was said to have killed Toyah but the reasons are not revealed by the Queensland police.
However, Rajwinder flew from Cairns to Sydney a day after the murder of Toyah and flew to India. Three Queensland police have landed in India to trace the whereabouts of Rajwinder Singh but even if he is caught, his extradition would take time. In order to nab Rajwinder as early as possible, the Australian police have announced a massive cash reward of one million Australian Dollars which is equal to Rs 3.3 crore (approx).
Ironically in criminal extradition, Australia and India have a long history. The island country is still pursuing the extradition of a 33 years old Indian national who pleaded guilty in a hit and run case.
