For the first time since reclaiming his position as the CM of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu is embarking on a visit to the long-delayed Polavaram project. As part of the Somavaaram-Polavaram program, which is being relaunched, Naidu will tour the Polavaram dam site on June 17.
According to the official protocol prepared by authorities, Naidu will spend a whopping 7 hours inspecting Polavaram tomorrow. The inspection will commence at 10 AM, with Naidu arriving by helicopter, and will continue until 5 PM. Despite being 75 years old, Naidu is working tirelessly, without a moment’s rest in his schedule, countering criticisms about his age from YCP leaders.
During his visit, Naidu will inspect the spillway block, guide bund, DSCD channels, and gaps, and will also review rehabilitation and resettlement efforts.
Following the inspection, Naidu will hold a press briefing around 5 PM to update the media on the progress of construction works. He is expected to present comparisons between the progress made in the last 5 years and the state of affairs when he stepped down in 2019.
All eyes are now on Naidu’s 7-hour inspection of Polavaram, a project of immense significance. Much anticipation surrounds the press briefing where he will address the media at the end of the day.
